Church Life
Sundays
On Sunday mornings, we gather together in the Community Hub. Our Sunday Services start at 10am and usually last around an hour, followed by coffee and cake.
Our services are fairly relaxed, with lots of space for friendship and laughter, alongside prayer, teaching, scripture and worship. Once a month we celebrate Communion, and several times a year we meet in the country park for Outdoor Church, where we can explore and enjoy God in nature.
Whenever we meet, there is always something for children – sometimes kids and adults meet separately, and sometimes we gather altogether. Our service style alternates each week:
our Altogether Service is a fun and informal service for all ages, with lots of songs, stories, games and crafts;
our Reflective Service is a more reflective space for for prayer, worship and teaching in the main room (while we have Kids Club in the other room).
Going Deeper
Prayer is the heartbeat of the church, and underpins all that we do. We encourage everyone to find a pattern of prayer which helps them to sustain and grow in their faith. For some of us this includes praying together during the week. Get in touch if you’d like to join us:

Home Groups are small groups which met (you guessed it) in one another’s homes. The idea is to get together to go deeper into our faith and friendships, so we usually pray together, explore the bible, offer one another support, and enjoy plenty of coffee and laughter. Home Groups are one of the best ways we know to help us grow in our faith together. Our current groups meet on Monday afternoons and evenings, and Tuesday evenings, and we’re thinking about starting a new group soon. Let us know if you’d like to join one!
Community Groups
Sherford Toddlers - is our super fun and ever-popular weekly group for babies/toddlers and their parents or carers. We meet every Wednesday (9:30-11:15am) during term, in the Community Hub. Join our Sherford Toddlers & Babies Facebook group to find out more.
Sherford Kids & Youth - we’re currently working with Sherford Land Trust to develop some new youth work provision in Sherford. Get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
Oasis Community Lunch - join us on Thursdays for a tasty lunch, a warm welcome, and a chance to make some new friends. Follow Oasis Community Café on Facebook for the latest updates.
Volunteering - are you interested in becoming a volunteer and making a difference in our community? There are loads of different ways to get involved - perhaps in one of our current activities, or with other local groups, or through one of the exciting new ideas we’re developing. Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals
Weddings & Funerals - unfortunately we’re unable to offer weddings and funerals currently, as we’re not a parish and don’t have a church building yet (although we’ve been designated a plot in Sherford town centre plans). If you live in Sherford, your local parish church is likely to be either St Mary’s in Brixton or St Matthew’s in Elburton (find out here).
